Diversity Policy
Indonesia’s craft is diverse; our newsroom must be too. We commit to fair representation, accessible language, and equitable opportunity.
1. Coverage commitment
- We cover artisans and communities across Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua — not just major cities.
- Gender, age, disability, religion, and ethnicity do not determine who gets quoted. Expertise does.
- We avoid stereotypes in headlines, images and examples; we prefer precise, person-first language.
2. Hiring & team
- Open roles publish clear criteria; outreach includes craft schools, disability communities, and outer-region networks.
- Interview panels are diverse; accommodations are provided on request.
- Pay bands are documented and reviewed annually for equity.
3. Language & accessibility
- We write in plain Indonesian and English — Bahasa Indonesia baku yang jernih and clear English — max 65ch, alt text for every image, captions for every video.
- All images require width, height and alt; color is never the sole signal.
4. Sourcing
Source lists are audited quarterly for balance. If a beat is repeatedly one-sided, editors commission stories to fill the gap and note limitations where balance was not achievable.
5. Feedback
Tell us who we miss: redaksi@tasgroup.id. We log suggestions, respond within 7 days, and publish an annual diversity note.
6. Accountability
The Editor-in-Chief owns this policy. Progress is reviewed annually and reflected in the Masthead and public note.
